About the Position:

Maintain and expand the company’s customer base and markets served, as well as increasing sales, total revenue, market share, and profit margins. The Ready Mix Sales Manager also leads, guides, motivates and trains the Sales & Business Development team and works closely with Marketing, Customer Service, Operations and Technical Services to exceed customer expectations and counter the efforts of competitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day activities of the Sales & Business Development team.
  • Adhere to the Chaney CORE by servicing the company’s customers with a focus on safety, the environment and quality.
  • Lead and support the Sales & Business Development team to maximize positive results through proactive, ongoing and effective communication, counseling, disciplining, monitoring and appraising performance results. Develop the Sales & Business Development team by recruiting, selecting, orienting and mentoring employees, in addition to providing high level sales training.
  • Maintain and enhance an environment of open, honest communication and transparency to assure positive employee morale and productivity.
  • Provide accurate reporting as required, through the continuous management, update and maintenance of data and necessary reports in all CRM (customer relationship management) systems. Coordinate, direct and monitor efforts of the team by tracking and reporting weekly activities.
  • Provide insight and influence on the overall strategy of the Sales & Business Development team. Collaborate with the team to identify strategies to set and achieve sales goals and uncover new, high value opportunities. Work closely with the VPGM and the management team to provide forward and rear views on the business.
  • Responsible for selling, maintaining and improving relationships with customers. Map potential customers and generate leads for the Sales & Business Development team and new business for the company.
  • Perform all possible research for project opportunities available for all divisions of service.
  • Maintain and expand sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors. Vigilantly search for new products to sell and markets to serve.
  • Actively participate in selected industry trade associations and community organizations.
  • Leverage cross functional resources to achieve results and meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and approve jobs for special pricing.
  • Assist the Chief Customer Officer as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
