100 Decorative concrete possibilities to celebrate 100 years of business makes for quite an impression. Scofield, our decorative supplier and an industry leader in the world of Decorative concrete, holds their annual contest for contractors to submit their best work from the previous year. They are celebrating their 100th year of business in 2015 and received 100 entries to their contest for an all-time record. Each entry will be posted on Scofield’s Facebook page over the next several months so there will be a variety of possibilities for viewers to imagine for their next project.
The contest is organized into six categories: Integral Concrete Color, Stained Concrete, Stamped Concrete, Polished Concrete, Heavy/Highway Concrete and Artistic Concrete. The grand prize winner, first, and second runner-ups will be announced during the 2015 World of Concrete to be held in Las Vegas from February 2nd - 6th.
Stamped concrete has become a popular choice for many homeowners since it is considerably less expensive than the material it is meant to mimic and a wide variety of patterns and colors are offered. Stained and polished concrete is also becoming favored for commercial flooring applications as it acts as a cost effective option and is extremely easy to maintain. Once a polished concrete floor is sealed just dust mop or wet mop and every two to three years the area should be resealed.
As if concrete’s practical quality isn’t enough, as an added bonus, concrete floors are also very favorable to radiant floor heating systems due to its high thermal conduction properties.
