October 18 was a picture-perfect fall Saturday for Chaney’s 29th Annual Bull Roast. Nearly 850 people attended this year, with plenty of great barbequed beef, ribs, hot dogs, beans, salads and beer to go around. Guests enjoyed rounds of black jack, played the Big 6 Wheel and won big at pull tabs. The silent auction items were a hit, too—golf foursomes, gift baskets and certificates, Deere toy trucks, weekend getaways and more were up for bids. Kids young and old took tries at the CAT simulator hosted by Alban Tractor. And Chaney’s own Vince Neclos and Richard Johnson of First Groove Sound Machine spun great musical entertainment as the event DJs. This year’s Bull Roast raised more than $37,000, bringing the 29-year total to more than $1,400,000 donated to the American Cancer Society for their fight against cancer.
