News - Seven Years of Excellence

For the seventh year in a row, Chaney Enterprises’ outstanding commitment to workplace quality has earned the company an Alliance for Workplace Excellence Award, recognizing policies and best practices that lead to outstanding service for its customers.

In addition, Chaney not only received the AWE Health & Wellness Seal of Approval for the sixth consecutive year, but for the first time also earned the AWE EcoLeadership Award – making the family-owned company one of only 13 to earn all three recognitions.

Chaney is among only 61 companies in the Greater Washington metropolitan area to be named an excellent workplace, and is still the only concrete and aggregate supplier in the region to be recognized.

The judges noted Chaney’s supportive corporate culture and management practices, family and employee-friendly policies and practices, strong employee health and wellness initiatives, comprehensive growth and learning opportunities, and demonstrating corporate social responsibility and employee volunteerism.

“Earning the Workplace Excellence Award for seven straight years is a great honor, and one we continue to be very proud of,” said William F. “Bill” Childs, IV, president and CEO. “We know our commitment to providing our employees with the best possible place to work and grow is essential to providing our customers with the excellent service they have come to expect. That our longtime commitment to environmentally sustainable business practices could also be recognized makes this year’s awards especially gratifying.”

Chaney joins only 31 other companies to earn the AWE Health & Wellness Seal of Approval, which recognizes companies for promoting professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, home and in the community. The company is one of only 12 other companies to receive the EcoLeadership Award, which recognizes visionary employers that are paving the way for environmentally sustainable workplaces with a demonstrated commitment to waste minimization, water conservation, pollution prevention, environmentally-conscious travel and energy efficiency.
