Chaney Enterprises has announced the promotion of Francis H. (Hall) Chaney, III to executive vice president. Previously chief operating officer, Hall Chaney assumes full responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Gambrills, Maryland-based company, leading Chaney’s sales and marketing, finance, human resources, risk and safety and information technology departments. He will also maintain his current responsibilities in the areas of safety, leadership, management and productivity for all concrete, aggregate, mining, trucking and maintenance operations.

Hall Chaney brings a unique strength to the company in that he has been fully engaged in the industry and in the company for his entire life. He gained an invaluable education over the years through family conversations, gatherings and traveling with his father, Francis H Chaney, II, chairman of the board.

While Hall has been exposed to the family business throughout his life, his official responsibilities with Chaney Enterprises began during summer breaks from school. He has worked in fleet maintenance, plant maintenance, concrete and sand and gravel operations, mining, land, trucking, technical services, customer service and the Concrete Store. He graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland with a bachelor of science degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He also holds a master’s degree in Real Estate and Development from the Colvin Institute at the University of Maryland.

Upon graduation, Hall’s full-time professional career began with Reliable Contracting of Millersville, Md. as an assistant project manager. He later earned a promotion to project manager and was managing over $25 million in site development projects. In 2008, Hall joined Chaney Enterprises as a project manager in land and development, and in 2010 he was promoted and took on the responsibilities of sales and business development in Chaney’s northern market. In that role, he developed relationships with more than 800 customers and successfully increased sales volume in concrete, sand, gravel, stone and the Concrete Store products throughout the region. In August of 2011, Hall Chaney was promoted to chief operations officer, a position he held until the June, 2013 promotion to executive vice president.

While Hall Chaney has enjoyed an exceptional professional career, he has remained active in the community and industry associations. He is a member of the National Honor Society, member of the Urban Land Institute, a member of the Board of Directors of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and Co-Founder and Chairman of Anne Arundel County Next Gen Organization.

“Hall is a highly capable, self-motivated, driven, caring and empathetic professional, who is especially receptive to innovative ideas” said Bill Childs, president and CEO of Chaney Enterprises. “This is a hard-earned and well-deserved promotion and the entire company looks forward to Hall’s continued leadership.”
