GAMBRILLS, MD, September 20, 2019 – Chaney Enterprises, a ready-mix concrete, aggregates, custom blends, and related construction supplies provider, announced that Chief Financial Officer Tom Flynn has been named a winner of the 2019 Best in Finance: CFO Award by the Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ).
Honorees, chosen by the BBJ editorial staff, are CFOs who are exemplary both in their field and in the community. All were selected on the basis of professional accomplishments, personal growth, and commitment to inspiring change.
Flynn has been with Chaney Enterprises for more than 14 years and directed the acquisition of both Dunkirk Supply and PCS Concrete, making Chaney Enterprises the largest family-owned ready-mixed concrete and sand and gravel producer in the Mid-Atlantic region. Through Flynn’s commitment to financial best practices, Chaney Enterprises is able to support the community, both financially and through material donations. Flynn earned his bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.
"For over a decade Tom has consistently allowed this company and its employees to grow with his strong vision for improvement,” said Francis "Hall" Chaney, III, president of Chaney Enterprises. "Tom’s successes as CFO are substantial but what truly sets him apart is the pairing of his financial best practices and accounting standards with his emotional intelligence and complete dedication to his team and industry."
Flynn was honored Sept. 19 at a reception at the Lord Baltimore Hotel and profiled in a special section in the BBJ’s Sept. 20 issue.
