As a Yard Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring our raw materials are received, stored, and loaded for production efficiently. You will be responsible for routine maintenance on plant equipment while maintaining an organized and safe yard area.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Inspection: Regularly inspect the concrete plant and related equipment to ensure optimal operation. Perform greasing, check oil levels, and keep all machinery clean and free of excess material.
Material Management: Maintain adequate levels of aggregates and admixtures, ensuring hoppers are filled and notifying the Concrete Plant Manager of any impending shortages promptly.
Quality Control: Take samples and conduct necessary tests, completing documentation and reports while informing Technical Services of any quality concerns.
Site Maintenance: Keep the equipment and plant area clean by washing down machinery, maintaining plant grounding, and ensuring the site is free of debris.
Safety Operations: Operate all vehicles and equipment safely, performing pre- and post-trip inspections and completing daily inspection reports.
Environmental Compliance: Adhere to environmental regulations by cleaning up any excess material that could pose environmental risks.
Collaboration: Assist the Concrete Plant Manager with batching and other tasks as needed, and support Dispatch with truck and driver communications.
Miscellaneous Duties: Perform various tasks as assigned, including site cleanup, sweeping, shoveling, and moving supplies or equipment.
